Exhibitor Eligibility
- 3 - 21 years of age
- Open to residents from all states (Out of state residents will compete in a separate category)
Membership Fee
- $20.00, one time fee per participant
- Paid at any sanctioned show
Areas of Competition
Participants will compete for points in the following categories:
- Show placing
- Showmanship
- Skill-a-thon
- Judging Contest
- Overall Exhibitor
Awards will be given to the top individuals in each age division in all categories.
Divisions
- Pee-wee Buckeye
- Junior Buckeye
- Intermediate Buckeye
- Senior Buckeye
- Out of State—all ages
Age breaks to be determined after sign up to create evenly distributed divisions. (Age as of Jan. 1, 2010)
Awards
- All participants will receive a Buckeye Show Circuit shirt.
- Awards will be given in each division in all categories at the final show.
- All exhibitors in class will receive points for their placing or for participating.
- In the show placing category, points will be awarded for the top two market placings.
- The best 5 out of 6 results for each individual will be used to determine each participant’s overall exhibitor points. (4 shows + 1 skill-a-thon + 1 judging contest= 6 results)
Information Pertaining to All Four Shows
- Ohio residents do not need to bring health papers. However, out of state health papers are required.
- All four shows are non-terminal. If you wish to sell, market will be available at the final show.
- Barrows and gilts will be shown separately.
- Breeds will show separately—A minimum of 8 head per breed required in order to show as a separate class.
- Purebred classes will be determined by the show committee and based upon the number of entries on show day. Breed characteristics will be followed at the show committee’s discretion.
- Showmanship will begin with senior showmanship. The Jackpot show will directly follow showmanship.
- Exhibitors MUST clean their pens at the conclusion of the final show they attend.
